Privacy Policy

tryPDF! provides free online tools for working with PDF files. This page describes exactly what happens to the files you upload.

File processing

Files you upload are processed on our server to perform the operation you asked for — merging, splitting, compressing, converting and so on. We do not read, index, or analyse the contents of your documents for any other purpose.

File deletion

Your uploaded file is deleted as soon as processing finishes, and the generated result file is deleted the moment your download begins. A background sweeper removes anything left behind — for example if a download was interrupted — within 30 minutes. Nothing is retained beyond that window.

Passwords

Passwords entered into the Protect PDF and Unlock PDF tools are used only for that single operation and are never written to disk or logged. tryPDF! cannot recover a password you have forgotten.

No permanent storage and no accounts

tryPDF! does not store your documents, and there is no signup, so we hold no account details for you.

Cookies and analytics

tryPDF! sets a small number of functional cookies: a security token that protects the upload forms against cross-site request forgery, and a short-lived cookie that tells the page your download has started.

We also use Google Analytics to understand which tools are used and to spot pages that are failing. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and receives your IP address and the pages you visit. It never receives your files or their contents. You can block it with any standard browser or extension-level analytics blocker without affecting the tools.

Reports and suggestions

If you submit a bug report or a suggestion, the text you type is stored so we can act on it, and a copy is emailed to us. Do not include confidential information in those forms.

Changes

This policy may be updated occasionally to reflect changes to the service. If you have questions about it, use the suggestion button in the corner of any page.
